The Tarikh walks the thirteen years: the first to believe, the two hijrahs to Abyssinia, the boycott, Taif, the Ansar, the Cave, the arrival. Ibn Ishaq is the main road. Bukhari’s Kitab al-Maghazi and Kitab al-Manaqib confirm the load-bearing hours.
Abu Bakr said: I looked at the feet of the idolaters above our heads. I said: Messenger of Allah, if one of them looks at his feet he will see us. He said: What do you think of two, the third of whom is Allah?
Bukhari — the Cave. Tabari carries it in the hijrah-year.
How to weigh this
Lists of the first Muslims vary by a name or two between Ibn Ishaq and others. The fact of Khadijah first, then Ali or Abu Bakr according to the chapter, is a known discussion. Tabari reports the discussion. He does not end it.
