And when We parted the sea for you, and saved you, and drowned the people of Pharaoh.
Quran 2:50

The longest prophetic stretch in the Tarikh after the Seerah is Musa: the box on the river, Pharaoh, the staff, the sea, Tur, the tablets, Qarun, the years in the wilderness. Tabari leans on the Quran, then on Ibn Ishaq, then on Wahb. The first is wahy. The second is sirah-craft. The third is often israiliyyat.
And when We parted the sea for you, and saved you, and drowned the people of Pharaoh.
Quran 2:50
Tabari names the Pharaohs as the akhbar named them, and he dates the crossing as the storytellers dated it. Those names are a historian’s net. The drowning is the Quran’s fact.

How to weigh this
Do not nail Musa to a museum label. Egyptology moves. The ayah does not. Tabari’s kings-list is a report of reports.
