The Farewell and the meeting with the Highest Companion
حجة الوداع والرفيق الأعلى
Year 10. He ﷺ taught them their hajj. He ﷺ asked: have I conveyed? They said yes. He ﷺ said: O Allah, bear witness. The ayah of completion came down that day, as Umar wept: today I have perfected your religion.
Year 11. He ﷺ chose the meeting. Aishah’s house. Abu Bakr led the prayer. He ﷺ died at noon on a Monday. They buried him in that room. The Quran had already told him he would die. The ummah almost died with him, until Abu Bakr recited: Muhammad is only a messenger. Messengers have passed before him.
