وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا
And He taught Adam the names — all of them.

Adam, peace be upon him
آدم عليه السلام
The Quran has already told the spine: clay, the ruh, the names, the sujud of the angels, Iblis, the Tree, the descent. Tabari gathers the reports that fill the hours between those ayahs — where Adam was set down, how long he wept, the meeting at Arafah. Some of that filling is from Ibn Abbas and the tabiin. Some of it is from Wahb ibn Munabbih and the People of the Book.
Adam and Hawwa were sent down, and they sought each other until they met at Arafah — so it was named for the recognition.

A famous report in the sirah-literature of the hajj. It is not a sahih condition of Arafah. The rite is from the Prophet ﷺ.
How to weigh this
Where Tabari and Ibn Kathir quote israiliyyat on Adam’s height or the hours of the Tree, Nur leaves them as ‘it is said.’ The ayah is enough.
