وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوا فِيهَا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا

Nuh and the Flood
نوح والطوفان
Tabari’s Nuh is the Quran’s Nuh stretched across years of dawah, the ark, and a flood the early ones described as covering the world. The Quran names the ship, the son who would not board, the mountain that did not save. Extra geography — which peak, how many of each animal — is the storytellers’ cloth, not the Book’s.
Nuh called his people nine hundred and fifty years. The Quran names the span. Tabari fills the years with the names of those who mocked, as the akhbar reached him.

How to weigh this
A flood in the Tarikh is not a licence to argue geology. The sign is a prophet who built, a son who refused, and a word that was true.
