Books we name, and books we do not paste
كتب نذكرها ولا ننسخها
Ibn Ashur’s al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir is among the finest modern Arabic tafsirs (Tunis, died 1393 AH). Al-Durr al-Manthur of Suyuti is a sea of reports. Shawkani’s Fath al-Qadir mixes hadith and law. Ibn Uthaymeen’s lessons are loved in many mosques. We name them so you know the shelf. We do not copy thirty copyrighted English volumes into Nur.
Tanwir al-Miqbas, sold as Tafsir Ibn Abbas, is a later compilation. Scholars do not treat it as the Companion’s own book. We do not put it on the first row.
